(Washington, DC – September 29, 2023)
The National Women’s Political Caucus mourns the passing of Senator Dianne Feinstein, the longest serving woman in the United States Senate and a champion for equality.
As one of the most powerful voices in the Senate, she blazed a trail for generations of women who followed her into elected office. Senator Feinstein was the first woman president of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, the first woman mayor of San Francisco, and one of the first women elected to the U.S. Senate from California. We pay tribute to her and mourn her loss with our members in California.
